Register Now for the Sixth Annual TMCA Symposium

Saturday, November 6th, 2010, 8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
State Bar Law Center at 1414 Colorado St., Austin, Texas
6.25 hrs. CLE (2.75 hrs. ethics)

The program for the Sixth Annual Symposium has now been finalized and details are available in the symposium brochure available by clicking here.

The symposium will explore three distinct styles of mediation: evaluative, facilitative and transformative.

  • Experts will explore each style covering the specific goals, unique features, process issues and skills specific to each style.
  • A panel of clients will discuss their experiences with and preferences of styles.
  • Mediators from Mexico will discuss the importance of the mediation models used in their culture.
  • The mediator’s role of providing information versus evaluation will be explored.

The symposium will feature structured small group dialogues to help the participants explore their own understanding and application of the different styles and how they may enhance their effectiveness as mediators by employing elements of the other styles.

Last year’s symposium proved quite thought provoking and our goal is to make this year’s even better and equally valuable for all mediators regardless of background or style. Block out the November 6th date on your calendar for this year’s TMCA symposium. The fee this year will be $100 for credential holders and $135 for non-credential holders. A registration form is available by clicking here and also in the brochure. Specific instructions for registering are included in the brochure; the deadline for registering is Friday, October 22, 2010.
