TMCA ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM

The Texas Mediator Credentialing Association’s Annual Symposium will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Austin.  This year, the theme for the Symposium is "CYA (Challenging Your Assumptions): Ideas Old, New, Tried and True—Effective Mediation Techniques for Everyday Use.”  The Symposium will address mediation techniques that have proven value for everyday use and challenge assumptions about what techniques work and don't work.

TMCA MEDIATION BENCHBOOK TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL CIVIL COURT JUDGES IN TEXAS

The TMCA Board of Directors has authorized the publication of the TMCA Mediation Benchbook to be distributed to every civil judge in the state of Texas this summer.  The Benchbook is approximately 50 pages and includes, among other items, mediation statutes, sample mediation orders, TMCA guidelines and grievance process, and the Texas Supreme Court ethics orders.  Credential holders can find the Benchbook on this website beginning in August.  The Benchbook is funded by your dues and an educational grant from the James W. Gibson Scholarship Fund.

Most importantly, we will feature a list of our current credential holders as of June 3rd, grouped by county, on the inside front cover and facing page of this Benchbook—to make it very easy for a judge to find TMCA-credentialed mediators within his or her county.

If you are a current credential holder, your name will be listed in the Benchbook.  However, if you are not, you have the opportunity to get credentialed by June 3rd in order to have your name included in the Benchbook which will be distributed to more than 1200 Texas judges.  Look under the "Join Us" menu on the left navigation bar and click on a renewal or application form.

If you are not already credentialed for 2011, this a unique opportunity to do so.
