TMCA’s James W. Gibson Symposium Scholarship

DEADLINE: Thursday, September 1, 2011

Two years ago, TMCA established an annual Symposium Scholarship to be given in honor of Dr. James W. Gibson, J.D., one of the founders of the organization.  Jim served as the first secretary of TMCA until the year before his death.  The annual Symposium Scholarship and the James W. Gibson Endowed Scholarship Fund honor his life, his accomplishments and his service to the mediation profession. The Scholarship grants its recipient complimentary admission to our 2011 Symposium and is awarded to a person who has worked to advance the quality of mediation in Texas and demonstrated unusual ability and dedication to the highest values of mediator professionalism.

Your input is vital in finding the worthiest recipient of this Symposium Scholarship.  Please submit your nomination soon.

Sent to All Civil Court Judges in Texas

This Mediation Benchbook provides Texas judges and others that utilize mediation a resource that includes mediation statutes, sample mediation orders, TMCA guidelines and grievance process, and the Texas Supreme Court ethics orders.  Inside the Benchbook’s front cover is a list of Credential holders by county.  This is the first time TMCA has listed its Credential holders by county.  Since this Benchbook has been mailed to more than 1200 District, County, Federal and Supreme Court judges, we wanted these decision-makers to be able to easily find Credentialed mediators within their counties/regions.  All current TMCA Credential holders will also receive a copy of the Benchbook.  The Benchbook is funded by your dues and an educational grant from the James W. Gibson Scholarship Fund.
